EcoArts

Cape Jourimain Nature Centre's EcoArts Festival is an annual event that encourages artists and the general public to look at and respond to nature with creativity and environmental sensitivity.

The festival is held in September, and involves artists including visual, dramatic and musical works. The artists represent a diversity of approaches but with the common thread of exploring nature and environmental issues through their art. In addition to their installation projects and performances, artists offer interactive workshops and demonstrations for the public.

In 2009, the Fesitval is held on September 11th and 12th.

Artists include John Chardine (photography), Linda Rae Dornan (multimedia, audio, installation), Chris Down (Struts residency artist), Georges Goguen (painting, installation), Donna Rawlins Sharpe (painting), Nancy Burkhart, Sue Rose (installation), Peggy Sue Payne (outdoor art, rugs) and Julie Caissie (prints). Viewing of the works and activities will run from 10 am to 3 pm Saturday and Sunday. The Nature Centre's popular Iceboat Landing Restaurant will be open during the festival from 11 to 4 Saturday and Sunday. The last brunch of the season will be on the 12th.
