Georges Goguen

I’ve been fascinated since my youth by pictograms, signs and symbols .

Our environment is constantly surrounded by logos and multiple forms and shapes . In collecting boxes and various packaging created by industry for a consuming society , I find them reminiscent of Egyptian hieroglyphs .

These boxes flattened , opened and reduce to two dimensions , then glued on a flat surface , intrigues me and becomes the departure for my paintings .
