Education & Outreach
We try to incorporate sustainable approaches throughout our operations. From our own reduction in our electricity use through careful systems management, to our purchasing policies in the Boutique and the Restaurant, our staff are very proud of their efforts. These efforts are reflected in our on- and off-site programs, as well as in the fact sheets and exhibit material that are available at Cape Jourimain or on our website.
Educational Programs
We offer educational on-site programs to visitors and to school groups. More information about our on-site programs for visitors.

On-site School Programs
We have developed programs to match learning opportunities at Cape Jourimain Nature Center with specific outcomes of the Atlantic Canada elementary and middle school curricula. Each program emphasizes human interactions with the environment, responsible resource use and positive environmental actions.
Off-site School Programs
Several of these programs can be delivered by our staff at your school. An in-school presentation could serve as an introduction for a future trip to Cape Jourimain or as a stand-alone program. Please contact us if you wish to discuss these possibilities further. A program fee and mileage costs will be applied.
Educational Material
We have developed a number of brochures and fact sheets that might be of interest to you. They can be downloaded here.

Professional Development
If you want to learn more about our local flora and fauna, great environmental education techniques or the latest resources available for teachers, our staff can help. We offer workshops on the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s Project Wild and Below Zero; and the NB Federation of Naturalists Species at Risk Kit. These materials were developed with educators and have been thoroughly tested in schools and outdoor education centers. Please contact us.
Our Facilities
We have a multi-purpose room, an Exhibit Gallery and an extensive trail system that visitors and groups can use. Follow this link for more information on our facilities.
