Why put Cape Jourimain on your itinerary?
The Crossing Place: Stepping Stones and Super Bridges
Cape Jourimain Bus Tour Program
1 1/2 to 3 hours duration
One of our enthusiastic interpreters will greet your group on arrival to the Centre and provide a brief introduction to Cape Jourimain. Following a rest-stop and browse through the Boutique the group heads across the short boardwalk to the Interpretation Centre. Along the way the "green technologies" used at Cape Jourimain are highlighted. Once at the Centre, we delve into the fascinating stories of Cape Jourimain's natural and human history. From the Centre and the observation tower there are spectacular views of the Confederation Bridge - the latest manifestation of Cape Jourimain as the "Crossing Place" to Prince Edward Island. After learning about the history of the bridge, your clients will have an even greater appreciation for the view from the restaurant where they will be served a delicious lunch. After lunch, our interpreter will lead the group on a beach or trail walk. In the case of inclement weather, a guided tour of the Exhibit Hall is recommended.
- Cost: $20 (plus tax) per person including lunch.
Additional Sample Itineraries
The following are samples of what tour organizers may wish to include in a stop at Cape Jourimain Nature Centre, be it for a few minutes or a few hours. Many options and combinations are possible and specific programs may be developed to suit the interests of our guests. With all programs we offer the driver and tour leader free admission and complimentary coffee or tea.
Visitors can stretch their legs, use the rest rooms, browse through our Boutique and purchase a snack. Access is free, donations are welcome.
Some of the best views and photo opportunities of the Confederation Bridge are from our Observation Tower and trails. A brief visit to the exhibit gallery or simply enjoying a good cup of coffee and the spectacular view can be included in a half hour stop. Donations can be made in several boxes and meters within the site.
A minimum of an hour is recommended for a complete Cape Jourimain experience. After a comfort break and browse through our Boutique, one of our interpreters will provide a brief introduction and lead the group to the Interpretation Centre. From here, your guests may climb the Observation Tower, explore the Exhibit Hall, stroll down one of the trails or sit and enjoy a snack or meal with an outstanding view.
