Things To See
Confederation Bridge
Cape Jourimain Nature Centre is located at the foot of the Confederation Bridge and offers the best views to admire and photograph this impressive structure. Our trails, beach and observation tower offer you a variety of perspectives and our staff are happy to answer your questions about its construction and operation.
Lighthouse
The Cape Jourimain Lighthouse is a heritage lighthouse built in 1870 and is renowned for its beautiful construction. It is also home to one of our area's few colonies of cliff swallows.
Observation Tower
Spectacular views of Jourimain and Trenholm Islands, the Confederation Bridge and the Northumberland Strait can be experienced from the top of our four-storey Observation Tower, accessible from the Interpretation Centre. You can be on the same level as migrating birds and nesting Osprey!
Exhibit Hall
Our Centre is home to a beautiful and informative Exhibit Hall that allows you to discover the area's fascinating history and unique natural features at your own pace and in any kind of weather. It takes you from the geologic origins of the area to the first human inhabitants, the Mi'kmaq, to Acadian and later British settlers. Feel the chill of an iceboat crossing to PEI and consider the impacts of our changing climate. Our collection of hand-carved birds is one of a kind and each one is artistically placed in a natural setting.
Art Gallery
In our small gallery we feature the works of area artists that share in our vision of striving for a better understanding and more harmonious relationship with the natural world.
