Guided programs are offered from June to September, 9:30AM to 4:30PM. Each program is 30 to 60 minutes.

Tours are limited to 25 participants per staff member. Larger groups will need to split into sub-groups and participate in separate tours. Groups may swap later if time permits.
Outdoor tours are weather dependent.

A scenic walk along a coastal trail out to Cape Jourimain’s historic lighthouse. Discover how a lighthouse works, what life was like for a lighthouse keeper, and why lighthouses continue to capture the imagination.
May include a look inside the main floor of the Cape Jourimain lighthouse.
Requires a 35-minute round trip walk to the lighthouse.
A guided tour through the Cape Jourimain Nature Centre museum. Unravel the story of Canada’s historic crossing place on this walk through history. Enjoy beautiful artifacts and interactive exhibits as you learn about canoes, iceboats, the Confederation Bridge, and more!
Tour will include free time to self explore the museum.
Accessible ♿
A guided walk along one of Cape Jourimain’s nature trails. Learn about different habitats and the many plants and animals that call Cape Jourimain home. Participants will be given binoculars for use on the tour.
Tour involves a lot of walking.
A hands-on session about wildlife. Learn about skat, skulls, and tracks. See the micro world of plants through our state-of-the-art Microeye Discovery microscope.

A walk along a coastal trail, where participants will learn about sea-level rise, hurricanes, and a changing climate. Discover how climate change is shaping the landscape and what sustainable technologies Cape Jourimain Nature Centre uses to reduce its environmental impact.
Tour involves a lot of walking.
Play a guided session of our giant boardgame, Climate Conundrum. Break into teams and guide a native bird across a changing landscape while answering trivia questions and learning about climate change and sustainability.
Accessible ♿
A walk along Cape Jourimain’s protected beach, where you will learn about shells, the intertidal zone, and the Northumberland Strait.
May involve a catch-and-release activity with a seine net if conditions permit.
